Dr Andreas Fischer

Dr Andreas Fischerstudied chemistry at the Universityof Bonn, Germany, and got his PhD in Technical Chemistry / Biotechnology from the same University. After a two years post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Stuttgart, he entered the Pharmaceutical Industry in 1995 by spending two and half years with Fisher Clincial Services in Basel, initially as project manager, later as Director of Client Services and Business Development.

In 1998, Andreas joined the consulting industry, and became a business consultant with Coopers & Lybrand in Basel (later known as PricewaterhouseCooopers and today as IBM Business Consulting Services). For four and a half years, Andreas was involved in many client projects in the field of pharmaceutical development, with a particular focus on investigational medicinal products.

In 2002, Andreas co-founded and became Partner with PharmLink Consultants, a niche consultancy, focussing entirely on investigational medicinal products preparation with all its numerous aspects.

Finally, in 2007, Andreas co-founded and became Partner with CS² – Clinical Supplies Consulting Services – where he continued the business from PharmLink Consultants together with his colleague and Partner Dr Klaus Kehne.

In all his projects since being in the consulting industry, Andreas key focus always has been on strategic topics such as business process re-engineering, continuous improvement projects, introduction of performance measurement (KPIs) and change management, strategic site assessments, decision support, evaluation and implementation of IT systems to support the clinical supply chain (e.g. IVS and MES systems), process harmonisation in post-merger situations, operational effectiveness, project management, outsourcing management, and benchmarking studies, but also on many operational topics and projects.

Andreas is well known as speaker and chairman at international conferences in all areas of IMP management, and also acting as a lecturer within the curriculum for continued qualification of pharmacists in Pharmaceutical Technology and Pharmaceutical Analytics.
